  • @Zooomabooma thats cause youtube can only play 128kbps so all tests on youtube are pointless

  • How in god's name are able to compare lossless to lossy while using a lossy format to store the whole thing? Of course they sound similar, they are both being downsampled to a lossy format (the format youtube uses).

And don't forget that mp3 take more away then that.. Lets say it breaks of lower frequencies too.. If you look at a waveform.. MP3 variable also takes parts away till 15KHZ or lower.. To make the file smaller.. So it can make the cymbals and voice "the s" more harsh.. And a good example is mike oldfield tubular bells / amarok.. The tubular bell just sounds very harsh..

MP3 can be used though for modern roc/ hip hip /rap.. But for more serious listeningwork I prefer FLAC

  • @svtcontour

I agree with you there.. But those frequencies carry other frequencies and so make them more natural.. Also low frequencies the same.. under 30HZ.. you dont hear it but you do feel it.. So make it useable.. thats why vinyl sound smooth and more natural if you use good equipment.. And no iPhone buds .. "<3 my klipsch heresy 2"

  • @MrDemilord But what good is 40Khz when most people's hearing (adults) are already down by 17Khz. Also most tweeters are also dropping off by 20Khz anyway.

  • FIRST!

  • This is why we need AAC.

  • @mramo Vinyl can go upto 40khz if good equipment and record is used

  • 240p how the hell can i compare it

  • 2:28 - Remember when ripping from CDs into MP3 (using LAME encoder). When sampling at 48Khz at 24bit or using a 32bit floater, the highest frequency range tends not to exceed over 22,000Hz. Vinyl's higher frequencies range is around 24,000Hz when youre sampling at 48Khz.

  • agreed youtube can play only 128kbps,the point is that it is applicable to both the lossless as well as the vbr/mp3 format files demonstrated in the video.if u listen carefully the diff is there nonetheless.
