Is there a big difference between the Mongols and Turks after all? They are both Nomads and come from the same race. Mongols could be Turks, Turks could come from Mongols, it is a very obscure and ambiguous history, is it not? In any event, they united force under Chingis Khan and formed an empire, right? Maybe they are not the same people or tribe, but certainly very good neighbours if not brothers.
@adrenelinechick Men with secretaries need not be literate, only educated. I suspect many powerful men of today would seem illiterate ( at least unable to spell properly ) if it were not for their secretaries. :)
There was once an English saying: "Scratch a Russian and you will find a Mongol". I do not know if it was simple propaganda but it was often said that Russians were more Asiatic than European. Perhaps this served the interests of Europeans contemplating a conquest of Russia. How sad that the endless wars seem to continue. Perhaps The God of the Sky will come to our aid of those who thirst for peace; throw down cold water to untie the cats and dogs. :)
@evilscotsmin he was held captive when he was a teenager for a few days or weeks. not years.
