California case of severely autistic young adult with self-injurious behaviors and epilepsy who lives at home with family. Cost to place him OUTSIDE home and INSIDE an institution was estimated over $500,000 year. Over a million if you add the 1:1 and often 2:1, 24/hr staffing he requires. Cost to keep at home with family and provide in home nursing care: Under $245,00.... Which option makes more economic sense? Support in-home support services,for families raising severely-autistic children/adults--- it makes economic sense in cases like this.

PTSD. I have never heard it put that way, but you are so right. I could be a work and hear a noise and it will trigger me to respond but then I realize I'm at work and there is nothing to respond to or prevent.

People with autism DO NOT BELONG IN INSTITUTIONS...if the family is willing to work with the person. Jamies families is more than willing to work with him and they show their love for him. Everyone needs to know they are imporant and feel love. You don't feel that in an institution. I go to a special needs state residential school and you barely feel it here.

@kgaccount multisnootylives1 is a guy who hates autistics.i had some videos of my sisters i posted a while back,and he put terrible comments on those vids.it broke my heart to know someone would treat and autistic child that way.ive also seen comments hes put on other videos with autistic kids that were cruel.hes a jerk,i blocked him from my page so he couldnt bother me.just ignore him,you and jamey are alot better than he will ever be
