Edit: A simple lightning shield is now capable of outlasting the thunderstorm rendering this solution obsolete.
So don't do it.
Unless you want to.
A short tutorial video about combining fire with your face to survive the harsh effects of Thunderstorm. In Magicka. The game.
@cytanlord Yeah I remember those old times, when you could heal a shield, overhealing it would make it last longer and it could take more damage... Well, you're welcome. I hope this will help others aswell.

@AQWsupersayaindragon This is indeed the case. Even the basic lightning shield is now capable of barely outlasting the Thunderstorm. I'll update the description with this information and I thank you for informing me. However, as I said before this isn't a video on the best way to survive, it's merely an entertaining solution that involves lighting yourself on fire. That and it was one of the few solutions that actually worked back then. That and overcharging a bubble shield with life landmines.

@cytanlord No, not at all. I think you just played on an older patch. The lightning ward at its fullest potential has a duration longer than lightning storm.

@AQWsupersayaindragon True, but the issue arises that the lightning shield's duration is too short and expires before the Thunderstorm ends. Being wet would prevent you from recasting it during the storm. The Righteous Rod of Runes is an obvious solution and would be an excellent item to have to survive the Thunderstorm, but may not always be available.

@cytanlord Then, a lightning ward, with full lightning would make you invulnerable from all lightning, or you could just use the staff of runes which gives you full invulnerability against lightning.
AQWsupersayaindragon 8 months ago
@AQWsupersayaindragon That is partially true. A water shield will prevent you from getting wet, however lighting actually favors the tallest target it can find, whether it's wet or dry. The only reason being wet causes a problem is because it prevents you from casting any spell that contains the lightning element, such as the lightning shield. As water and lightning cancel each other out you can only cast a shield of one or the other.

@cytanlord Really? Warding against water will never make you wet, and reading some of the comments on other videos lightning storm only hits wet objects.
AQWsupersayaindragon 8 months ago
@AQWsupersayaindragon As I have stated in my reply to darklol261, that is impossible to do.

@cytanlord You can also just ward yourself against water and lightning. You wouldn't get wet and the lightning would not hurt you. Much easier.

@AQWsupersayaindragon As I stated in the video there are more practical solutions to survive. The point of this one is that of entertainment. I find it the most enjoyable method to pull off while still being reliable.
