Priests are told they'll be able to be celibate but that's a myth. According to CARA, 50,0000 churches and 100,000 missions have no priest. 125,000 priests have left, primarily to marry, in the last 50 years. Pope John Paul II said celibacy is not part of the essence of the priesthood. Priests, popes, and bishops married and fathered children for 1200 years after Christ. Celibacy has been linked with prostate cancer, psychological and physical debilitation, clericalism, and the obstruction of the calls of young men to priesthood.
