By voice only, Pia can be mistaken for Melissa Manchester. The song's got the same rhythm as "You Should Hear How She Talks About You" which is also MM's hardest (& imo only) rocker. This is without any question Pia's hardest (& perhaps only) rocker. Is "Rock It Out" on an album? What's its title?
What's the name of the original album? I looked everywhere (via All Music Guide & iTunes) & its original album is not there. It's on a couple compilation discs (none by Pia Zadora) but its original album is obvious not on CD. Can't believe this song actually was nominated for a Grammy for Best Female ROCK Song in 84. Nowadays any AOR radio station would stay clear of it & call it the "kiss of death"!! I'll say this - it's better than any of the pop crap that's on the radio, MTV or VH-1 today!!!
I love this song. I saw Pia do this on Solid Gold & she had a bunch of half naked pseudo biker dudes swarming all over her on a Harley while Jermaine wailed away on guitar. It totally rocked. Somebody needs to post THAT version!
@bucky468 It's on Let's Dance Tonight
(CD, Album) Curb Records Germany 1984 (discogs.com) Sure to be a rarity.
