Only released on an obscure BBC Themes CD, this is the full length version of the theme from 1987 arranged by Keff McCulloch.

  • What is the name of the CD?

  • @marcsw5000 - The World of BBC Themes, there are some people selling copies through Amazon,

  • Has anyone got a the clip from the childrens programme "Corners" that Sophie Aldred presented. The clip is the one with her meeting Keff McCulloch and seeing how that was made.

  • @hoggys2much - search "keff mcculloch corners"

Top Comments

  • Impressive CGI for 1987 (the year I was born).

  • Best Dr. Who theme since Peter Howell's.

Personally, I think the newer ones are awful, and Murray Gold butchered it with his Series 4 - Present version.

  • @kawless I thought it was paper or trash. Thanks for clarifying that.

  • It's the best theme. In some mixes of this the bass really comes out and it's such a powerful song. But to me it also somehow captures the loneliness of how I always imagine the doctor as a Timelord.

  • @BetaLink64 holly shit its really 3 years old!? Sorry I feel stupid for not realizing you meant Keff, I mean its in the bloody description... I thought you'd gotten Sylvester McCoy's last name wrong.

  • @TheIVGamer - Do you realize you replied to a three-year old comment? I spelled "McCulloch" wrong. Sue me. If you don't know who Keff McCulloch is, then I suggest you not comment anymore.

  • @BetaLink64 who in holly hell is McCullogh?

  • The quality of that is pretty damned good! Was it originally digitally recorded? I guess it would have been analogue back then...

  • say what you will best ever opening of dr who ever

  • HAPPY 48TH ANNIVERSARY DOCTOR WHO!!!

  • Somehow my favourite who theme, just because it really plays with the bassline and those nice chord pads in the background really add to the overall harmony

  • magic
