@gjc82071 I was never able to find the DVD. I found the movie a few years after it came out & couldn't get the DVD. I've even gone to flea markets looking. Some stores have pulled out a book & shown me 'out of print' or 'unavailable'. After re-reading your comment tonight, I think I'll take my advice on cd's & look online. Duh. Thanks for this. Noooo.....It's in the movie/DVD, not the soundtrack. It's literally the very 1st scene in the film. Dr. Lily Penleric/the musicologist (Janet McTeer) is in the college/school & sitting at the piano. She is playing and singing Barbara Allen. (my favorite version) When she is done, she turns & addresses the class. When I want to hear it, I must start/play the movie, hahaha. I never tried to rip only a specific piece from a DVD, & never posted to Youtube. Thanks for the reply though.

@gjc82071 hmmm.....I bought a second Songcatcher album but it is with the actors singing the primitive songs. No big names. I am sure that version is not on my second cd. I really like the version that the movie opened with. The lead actress on piano/singing. My favorite version of this song. I wish somebody would post it. I would, but I have never posted anything and I am not sure how to rip that part off the movie, upload it, post it, etc.
