@billy8715345 Your mostly right but a plane dosent need to move reletive to the ground to take off, the propeler forces air through the wings and the wings is what lifts the plane. although the propeler has to spin much more faster.

I find it funny how people think that the plane is relying on their wheels just to take off. Every plane in the world doesn't rely on its wheels to take off so in the words of adam "I reject your reality and substitute my own"

Mythbusters should have used a fan so Dummies would see the difference from power by wheels and power by propeller.

was tht car int the beginning a hobby style model?

@solidsnake123 Oh really? Who's stupid. It is obviously impossible.

@surix planes don't rely on their wheels to take off, even if the treadmill is moving 3 times the speed backwards, the plane will use the air to take off.. the wheels will just be spinning 3 times as fast.

@solidsnake123 yep

@billy8715345 Exactly, in another instance, the reason of the faster you drive, the easier you will lose control of the car, is because of the reduction of the friction between the tires and the ground, plus the lifting force causes by the forward moving motion from the vehicle, which is very similar as you stated.
The ground moving backward WILL pull the plane backward, but very slowly due to the low friction. The prop will pull it forward with much more force than the wheels' friction pulling it back, hence it would have net forward motion. As the air does not move relative to the ground, the plane thus moves relative to the air, and takes off.
If the friction on the wheels was high enough, however, the force of friction would be able to stop the plane from moving. Practically impossible though.

you have to be retarded if you think the plane wont take off
