So I decided to try this little experiment again. This time, after the patch that decreases the charge time for the Lancer (though this still doesn't change the charge time of a full charge).
I synced both videos with my first mouse click to fire - you can see this on both clips as the battery moves out slightly when you fire/charge.
I don't use ADS, as that would unfairly add extra time to the experiment. Also, unlike my previous experiments, this time I release the charge as soon as it hits full (listening for the sound effect) - in the previous test I was holding the charge longer than need be and letting the Lancer fire on it's own.
The last two shots of the charge test were single fire shots, as a full charge wasn't required, and it would have added extra time unrealistically.
While I appreciate that it is still situational, the Lancer has a faster velocity at range, charing uses less ammo and if you have the element of surprise it's better for the first hit to be a charged hit; this video still proves that rapid firing single shots from the Lancer has higher DPS / faster TTK than charged shots. This is all post the first round of patching to improve the Lancer.
