Here you can see the rest of the herd, AND a tractor, crossing the River Towy for their milking. I'll repeat, they started out totally on their own initiative at exactly the correct time. At times of high water, they swim - and watch carefully - they seem to enjoy themselves. They drink from the river, stop for a think, have a lick of a neighbour . . . .

Yes, it did occurr to me while watching that if the river was a bit deeper (as it often is) you could forget the udder wash routine!
