After 5 years of cranking I decided to finally mount a low cost winch on the tower to lower and raise the VHF/UHF/Microwave antenna array. The storm season is here in the Midwest which produces many violent storms so it's always a pain to keep raising and lowering the antennas. This was just what the doctor ordered.

The pad extends out 2 feet below what you see above the surface. I stepped it down. This tower has been up since 2006. I wshit by a microburst last Oct 2010. It was up and recorded an 87 MPH wind during the event. That storm caught me off guard. The winch has been the only new addition this spring.
