Roland TD-12K with PD120 snare pad upgrade. Triggering Superior Drummer 2.0 over MIDI into an M-Audio Audiophile 192 soundcard, then into Cubase 4 on a Windows Vista machine.

Some EQ and compression was used on the drum sound, but the drum track is a single take and is untouched.

Cameras used: Panasonic HDC-SD90 & Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG10

  • is it possible to get a "dry" sound on the cymbals?

  • @Paradiddlar Yes, if you reduce the level of the room and overhead mics in Superior, you should get a closer/drier sound. You are at the mercy of the original sounds a bit though, as they were all recorded in quite 'roomy' recording studios. There is an EZX addon pack for Superior called Claustrophobic which has some stuff recorded in very small rooms, and is very dry.
