Float Fishing Brighton marina

Fishing a calm summer evening in july, the mackerel kept biting almost into darkness. Sadly 2010 has been a lousy summer for macks, but not all years are
this bad! I just hope this footage activity doesn't become history - the way things were.

Well the majority of people who fish here for mackerel have no concept of 'sport' fishing. I keep a few for Autumn/ Winter bait and return the rest. After a good start the Summer of 2011 was CRAP! I can safely predict the fishing will gradually decline until sea angling as we know it becomes a thing of the past!

@IdiotsRUsLtd Well I must admit i haven't fished the marina for some time!

Dec to march is probably the worst time of the year. whiting, possibly codling at night, bass when the water is churned up after rough seas, the odd flatfish. lugworm, ragworm. squid or slipper limpet for bait. In the summer live mackerel or pouting for some very large bass, but you need a lot of patience!

im not racist but i think its these people especially the Chinese who take home about 100 mackerel each visit and do nothing with them and i think this is sadly damaging the stocks slowly
