You mentioned that the findings are ceded to the owners? Could you explain that? I am thinking about picking up this hobby and wanted to know some of the different types of competitions there are.

One thing though is you should have mentioned we don't leave holes and don't always use shovels for digging...lest some newbies think it is ok to use a shovel or pick and leave holes. We don't want to lose more detecting places through negligence or misunderstandings. Thanks again SC for the video.
Do you know around when the first metal detector was manufactured? How old were those antique metal detectors?
