After traveling almost five hours from Minneapolis in gale-force winds, HANDY editors Connie Bastyr, Gary Legwold and I got a sneak peek of Duluth Trading Company's new flagship store (http://www.duluthtrading.com/store/about-duluth/flagship-retail-store/flagship-retail-store.aspx) in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin (http://maps.google.com/maps/place?cid=8555338550800193218&q=duluth+tradin...s), that's opening on November 1st. Was it worth the trip? You betcha it was! After viewing Duluth's workwear and other offerings in its catalog and on its Web site for many years, it was a real treat to see the full line of products in the company's first (and beautifully designed) retail store. The store also features the Wally Keller Tool Museum, which makes this store more than just a shopping experience, but a destination for tool lovers, too. If you're in the vicinity of Mt. Horeb, you should make a point to stop by. Its location in a renovated old hardware store is scenic and quaint, and I found the store to be a great experience -- even for a hit-and-run shopper like myself.
