"power that can smash even the souls of the gods" is such an awesome line.
-
It has to be Ragna, I think, because it's an allusion to the "Ragnarok" in Viking mythology, the final destiny of the gods.

@chopinandliszt or it would be the fact that japanese can't spell L so they said "raguna braduuu" in japanese who knows :D but ragnarok version sounds more plausable

Just so you know, this isn't the "perfected" version. It wasn't perfected until Lina learned the true power of the Lord of Nightmares, which she draws the power for the Ragna Blade from. This is just when she was able to control it a bit better than the first time she used it.

XD linaaaa

I think this has always been my favorite spell. It might be less practical than a fireball, but if there was a zombie apocalypse, this is the spell I'd pick.

The english dub of Slayers was a good dub and to all you people who are butt hurt that its not in Japanese don't watch this video its really that simple.
-
I think when they made this spell and called it Ragna Blade based off of the mythical weapon Ragnarok

@ZarineBashire more character than megumi...? do you even know who she is? rofl
megumi is absolutely perfect for this type of character which is why she was chosen

I actually prefer watching the English version of this anime. I like the English voice actress over Megumi Hayashibara, it has more character.

the most ridiculous part of it is that the ychanged the name of the spell...the correct is LAGUNA BLADE!
just to you guys realize hhow idiot is to change the language of an anime, get as an example dragon ball z, the "ITS OVER 9000" the correct is supposed to be "8000" roflmao!

Dude... Laguna = Ragna it's the same thing, it's not even really a translation its the same pronunciation use two different character sets.
The Japanese characters are "ra-gu-na" in Hiragana. Raguna... the Romanji, or english alphabet, spelling could have been Raguna as spelled there, but it is ALSO possible to drop the "u" sounds in such cases as "gu".
That's how "Laguna" can be written as "Ragna" and that's what they did here, there's NOTHING wrong with it.
