GMOD Hexapod Robot

A Hexapod (6 legged) robot in Garry's Mod 10. The new hydraulic tool is tricky at first, but can be used to make a mobile 6 legged robot.

The first design shown uses pulsed thrusters with the motion of the legs to move forward. One key controls forward pulsed thrust, and a toggle between two states in all hydraulic circuits. What this means is by repeatedly tapping said key, you can have forward motion.

The second design shown uses two hydraulic states in all circuits. One set of legs up and forward, the other set down and back, and then the two sets reverse state. Thrusters are used to provide some steering.

The final design shown is an actual robot kit from Parallax Inc. Their HexCrawler robot sells for several hundred dollars and can carry a large payload for it's own size and weight.

Well, the 2nd one was the best...um, yeah, and the first one wasn't bad, but it just looked pretty uh...clumsy...

Um, but yeah, keep going with your building and I reckon with a bit of experience you could make some real jems. Feel free to look at the designs on my channel, and I'm more than glad to discuss the construction. =)

Very nice! The second one looks VERY promising. Try building a torso on top of that design; it would create a very interesting mech!
