Toronto - November 7, 2009 - A high-power green laser projected on the Skydome/Rogers Centre to bring awareness to the current situation in Iran. Thousands of Torontonians were able to see the projections from their apartments, homes and on the streets below. Please post your comments here and if you have any suggestions for laser projection surfaces in the Toronto area please post as well. Please note that this display was not produced by the City or by the Rogers Centre - just an independent group in Toronto supporting the people of Iran.

  • Do you have a laser company ? What's your web site ? I wanna see some Raster Scans!!!! Come on... it's the year 2012 already....

  • @LaserEntertainment - sorry no raster scans, the producer used a small 500mW 532nm system with 30kpps galvos, not sure if it is even capable of raster scans at that speed. But then again, that wasn't the point of the original display/video.

  • i don't think this video is real. where's the spectral radiation ? look at the edges ???

  • @LaserEntertainment - wow, I can't believe this many years later you are actually posting here contending the authenticity of this. I even posted 2 followup videos where you can see the raw footage from the video. Clearly, you did not watch those. But I digress, cynics will always have moronic things to say, regardless of the evidence. lol @ spectral radiation.

  • I can't believe some people still think this might be fake...so I posted yet another Video Response here on YouTube. Good location - there are thousands of cars streaming by on the highway, but I had the laser inside my car and my window wasn't so clean, so the beam was not as bright. :-) If anyone has ideas for good locations in Toronto to project onto - please post them here - ideal locations are large, flat white surfaces.

  • dont get me wrong, i love this!!

but it just seems a little odd how the screen jumps from when it zooms into the roger centre and then the blurry moving lights around and the ROGERS sign becomes so stable and bright!! if this is the same camera then how is that possible...

wish this was true though! maybe one day....

  • Hi Baharakz and thanks for your comment. I guess you didn't watch the video response that shows raw footage of how the video was made? Also check northsideparker's comments below about how the lights actually flicker if you fast forward/rewind. The footage was shot in many, many different clips and then I pieced them together with VirtualDub. Thanks.
