@RetiredYet It's a sister series to the better-known Strike Witches, but unlike SW, it (or at least the series version of Sky Girls) has character development and a better-designed setting. The Sky Girls OVA is a one-off thing, but the Sky Girls series (26 episodes) is pretty nice; it comes off as a lighter, more adorable, and more slice-of-life-y version of Neon Genesis Evangelion, in some ways. Though it is a bit slow.

Sky girls is somewhat new, the series is awesome. It's not complex but not simplistic either. Good anime.
