  • Excellent example of simplicity, which is the hardest thing to obtain.

Crosby made the song out of nothing and made it a masterpiece.

So, all youu need is genius and divine voice, and you can do the something like this.

My favourite from the first time I heard it.

    THE BEST !!!

  • u just dont get IT man..

  • 1.We love flying because we love the Byrds; 2. Commercial flight is cheapr than ever and just about as dangerous. I stlii love the exhiliration of the window seat-bulkhead; 3.Agree wholeheartedly with Hawaiifive01

  • applesweeter:

    1. Because its incredibly wonderful, its a superpower. And its indredibly comon. Yet we as humans cannot do it, even a little, without a machine.

    2. Commercial flying allows the general populace to fly. It also takes us to "somewhere else" at nearly inconcevable speeds. Although the experience has degraded tremendously since 1980.

    3. The airport is the center of posibilities. Everyone there is "going somewhere else" or returning. There is always an air of anticipation.

  • Dear All,

I have some questions about psychology:

    (1) Why do we love flying?

    (2) Why does commercial flying is so amazing that we compose many so about it, including this "Airport Song"?

    (3) Why do we enjoy to be at the airport?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

  • it sounds like antonio carlos jobim meet the beatles it is indeed very lovely.

  • Airport Song captures a Brazilian jazz feel that was popularized at the time by Antonio Carlos Jobim and Astrud Gilberto, among others. Both Crosby and McGuinn were into jazz, so while not part of the established continuum, Airport Song was and is an enjoyable nugget, and certainly speaks to the Byrds' incredible versatility. It's also an early example of the jingle-jangle effect that came to represent the Byrds' sound.

  • This song is so beautiful. I don't know why it's not such a famous one by The Byrds.

  • It's sounds not really Byrd like and really a little bit like elevator music. :D

  • no I dont but if you like it then it's all good...
