you guys dont get it. heres the technique (i learned this inthe navy, we called it the poor man's windproof lighter):

step 1: hold the trigger to get the gas on your hand, hold it somewhat tight to keep most of the gas from escaping

step 2: light that fluid (we cupped our hands in a manner so there was a fireball at the bottom of the "cup" for about 5 seconds and you stick a cig in there)

this works not only in windy conditions (using the cup method) but also w/ a dead lighter.

@mumbonick its not fake. he hold the gas release on the lighter to fill his other hand with gas then lights it so his left hand is producing a flame, so technically, he IS lighting it with his hand.
