This is my original bass line for Andy McKee's amazing song Rylynn. I got permission from Candyrat Records before I uploaded this. I recorded this video playing through my Markbass Littlemark II, Traveler 1x15, and my Benavente 4 string fretless Standard Series prototype. Around 3:15 seconds into the video you'll notice my sound change a little bit, this is because the Zoom H-4 I was recording through ran out of batteries, so I had to overdub the rest with a guitar V-amp 2. I will be uploading another video of this soon that's just me with tabs going along with it for anyone who feels like learning this.

My band is nothing like this, but if you like my playing, check out myspace.com/apteraband

  • I kinda like it. But why playing bass to a perfect guitar song? Thats what i dont unterstand...

  • @BBoyZVF you'll have to ask andy mckee, since if you do some research, you'll see that he has had bass added to this song live as well.

  • hehe... looks like exactly half of the people like my video and half dont... i guess I couldn't really ask for more than that without having kittens in my video

  • But do some tap on it..... other than that sounds good....

  • @jdabass17 I love doing tapping but this song is so mellow, it seemed like it would distract from the tranquility of the song

  • the fretless slides are the best part!

  • @BBoyZVF bass makes everything better -.-

  • Personally I think this sounds great for the most part. Don't much care for the slides though. Maybe if you hadn't used a fretless bass it would be perfect. Other than that I love it

  • wow good work i'll suscribe :)

  • looks like a Zon Hyperbass?..is it?

  • hmm.. you pretty much killed the airy-light quality of the original song in my opinion.
