Tongues Untied DVD trailer

Available for the first time on home DVD on March 18th Tongues Untied shares fierce examples of homophobia and racism: the man refused entry to a gay bar because of his color; the college student left bleeding on the sidewalk after a gay-bashing; the loneliness and isolation of the drag queen. Yet they also affirm the black gay male experience: protest marches, smoky bars, "snap diva," humorous "musicology" and vogue dancers.

I remember when PBS used to air several LGBT documentaries during Gay Pride month. "Tongues Untied" was one of them. PBS doesn't air LGBT documentaries during Gay Pride month the way that they USED to.

I've had both documentaries on VHS for years now AND I've watched both several times over the years that I've had them on VHS. Both documentaries are VERY interesting.

I came across this when I was watching CurrentTV's "50 Documentaries You Must See Before You Die". Now I really want to see it.  It's on Netflix, but has no release date.

Another one I'm dying to see is Paragraph 175, a documentary that recounts the atrocities Nazi Germany committed to gays - a group that was overlooked by many of the War films related to the Nazi's.
