Pakistan's "long march" lawyers reach Islamabad - 14 Jun 08

Tens of thousands of Pakistani lawyers takign part in the so-called "long march" have now descended on the capital Islamabad.

They're staging a mass sit-in outside parliament to pressure the new government to reinstate judges fired by President Pervez Musharraf.

I hope this will mark the beginning of a new era. Lets remind our self that the price for this revolt against the elite class that has ruled Pakistan for decades wont be easy and the cost may very well be the life of many innocent people but lets not forget that never inhistory has a time period before a revolution been bloodless.

If not, i hope the people have realized that the best thing for the country right now is martial law, shakedown of all corrupt politicians, banning of MQM and elections.

It wasn't a democracy but at least Musharraf kept the country relatively stable, he at least deserves kudos for that =]
