  • I've seen a lot of live performances of 'if work permits', and this is by far the best one out there. Not only the immense amount of emotion he put into this particular take, but he actually hits the high note (instead of a cold goodbye), proving he can actually do it live.

    Amazing singer, amazing song.

  • actually, you should learn to appreciate lyrics. I mean I'm not saying hes an amazing poet, but a lot of their songs have incredibly deep lyrics once you really break through their pop melodies. thats actually one of the things I love about the Format.

  • wow

  • @thirty6chambers The Beatles have fucking terrible lyrics. Bob Dylan's lyrics aren't amazing either. They often tell a good story or whatever but they aren't outstanding. I know your comment was 3 years ago but it was pretty ridiculous

  • @xxaarontnxx oh and yes nate ruess iant just a poet, hes the BEST poet. fuck you for saying anything else.

  • This is my favorite song of all time too...

  • best song by them, easily. this performance is wonderful.

  • Theyre amazing live. It's how I fell in love with them.

  • the emotion he puts into the songs just blows me away.... this is why the format is my favorite band

  • Music just depends on what you like, it's personal opinion. I love Elliott* Smith and Dylan, Radiohead is another group who are extremely talented and don't seem to get as much stardom as pop bands, but I also like these guys. This is probably my favorite song. Good stuff. Influences are everywhere, and you can always reach out to someone somewhere.
