The flat-black antiglare paint scheme ontop of MiG31 nosecone and around the pilot’s canopy, must continue all the way around to aft of the backseater’s canopy. It’s neglect is an error. [or misdirection?]

In a turning engagement or at the top of an offensive loop, the rearseater goes heads-up as the pilot will have allot of instrument scan and the extra pair of eyes is priceless.

As it appears from topside against the hunting gray, that additional angular flat black looks killer!

Pretty interesting video, including a history of this base on the outskirts of Petropavlovsk.  I've flown by it many times when I was in the USAF. Our aircraft gets a mention in it.
