40 Years Old and Still Skateboarding

This is a short film I did (total amatuer) of me skating...I skated when I was young in the late 70's...here I am at 40, found a local park and pulled out My old Steve Olsen Santa Cruz board, with Independent 169 stage two trucks and the old aluminum hub Gyro wheels...still gets me around I guess.

in response to your comment from 3 months ago...i'm 37 and just recently taken it up again after the same break, i totally agree it hurts more,takes longer to heal and it also takes more to get the balls to attempt things because you know what the outcome could be. my advice is to buy a new board they are so much easier to ride. SK8 OR DIE.

I just started skating again at 43. I wish I'd stuck with it but in the small town I grew up in we didn't have parks and nobody had a half pipe, etc. I thought I outgrew it when I went to college and now that I'm losing my balance and flexibility I've decided to skate again. The really hard part is not being as agile and it hurts more when I fall now and the recovery is slower. Man to be a kid again... but then again, these are the days so live them!
