From bestselling author and Internet pioneer Steven Johnson, The Innovator's Cookbook (on sale October 4, 2011) is an essential book for anyone interested in innovation: the key texts on the topic from a wide range of fields as well as interviews with successful, real-world innovators, prefaced with a new essay by Johnson that draws upon his own experiences as an entrepreneur and author.

Innovation is today's buzzword for a reason. The need to push forward, find new paths and new ideas, in an ever-evolving world, is an essential part of business, of education, of politics, of our daily lives. Building on the success of Johnson's Where Good Ideas Come From -- one of the most acclaimed business books of 2010 -- The Innovator's Cookbook makes a major new contribution to this vital conversation.

  • Innovation is fantastic but its not the thing thats 'key to the future of the planet', it might be the most imp in a world where we arent destroying the environment and keeping half the world in poverty. We already have solutions to fix this things. Just need to implement. Political will is the problem. Without implementing the solutions we already have by counteracting mistrust, greediness & corruption, there will be no world left in which to innovate.

  • I HATE MISSING K's

  • i literally couldnt even focus on what the guy was saying because in my head all i could hear was "ITS COOKBOOK DAMNIT!! COOKBOOK!"

  • interesting dialogue. i agree innovation happens in every aspect and needs to be viewed rightfully so. please check out my new blog, StrategyIsEverything on Blogspot. 4 part social media series starts next week.

  • Is there a reason why, for over a minute, they coud not spell 'COOKBOOK' correctly?

  • Agreed, completely. You've gotta "get lost." Otherwise, what's to prevent you from doing what you've already done? By "getting lost" and playing around, you've giving yourself a new way to look at the world. So, during future endeavors, you might approach the endeavor just a little differently. And to me, that is innovation.

Super happy to see a new book from Johnson. Loved his TED talks. I would feel bad pirating this book, because I believe the ethics in it. So, you've got +1 customer, here!
