  • That's also the another reason I use the bleeding resistors, and SCRs... -_-

  • where do you get an SCR to switch 10kv @ a few tens of millions of amps?

  • someone please hook up a solenoid to those banks!

  • tried to. the coil wasnt perfect - instead of shrinking a quarter it bent it in ahlf and shot it out one end at reasonably high speed. nailed the guy seen discharging the caps in the photo in the head. lucky hes rather thick headed so it didnt penitrate.

  • Yeah you leave those things charged and they will kill someone. Also a bleeder is a good Idea because some capacitors can gain a sort of memory allmost like a battery and slightly self charge themselves. Especialy the HV ones.

  • energy storage caps of these size are always stored shorted.

  • You know you've got expensive (albeit well-used) pulse caps to burn when... this kinda breaks my heart a bit. OTOH, I hope you guys get to keep the Group going, so I hope you sell more of these than you destroy or abuse.

  • @4laser

You can't leave electolytic capacitors empty though..

You have to store them charged.

  • @4laser LOL! Holy crap.

  • @4laser rofl, indeed, quite right.

  • Where do you have a copy of the video that has sound, AND is not being run in slow motion?

  • jesus stick.

  • 1/2 x C x (U^2)

    10kV and 80kJ results 1600µF

  • They make supercapacitors or ultracapacitors which go to 3000 farad ar 2.7V

  • you crazy!!!!!!

  • WOW hammer 5* von mir
