@nushkant I agree. There is nothing secret about it at all. If there were some special technique she employed that no one knew of she should be ashamed of herself for not sharing with the community.

@knitpicks there is no secret at all!!! this is how people in Russia keep hands and fingers to knit. I bet I knit faster then she does. I would advice you to cheek some russian video on youtube. It´s unbelievably easy. really. You can knit and watch TV, I mean you can look at TV screen but continue to use your hands for knitting.

Wowzers!! I envy her!! It's also very motivating for me to know that as a beginning knitter I can increase my speed if I put lot more practice into it. Cant wait to be faster 0_0

But Hazel Tindall (sp?) IS a 'thrower'! She holds the yarn in her right hand and picks up the sts with the tip of her right needle. I think that her movements are much tighter/closer than Miriam's.

Actually there is a Scottish woman that knits faster than this woman....how can there be two worlds fastest knitters lol Still faster than me though
-
If it's so top secret why is it here. Do you know the video can be downloaded and then slowed down?
-
Wow! But I wish they would have shown her purling also. It would be interesting to see if the World's Fastest Knitter can also whiz through a dreaded purl row.
-
@knitpicks how selfish. to have a "top secret" method of knitting. people should share their knowledge with all.
-
Haha! Now with the slow down button on certain videos, including this one, maybe we can all see her technique...
-
I should think this just takes constant practice, I agree with alospm about the teacher spirit
She is knitting so fast, that you can't really see her method. Is would have been nice to have her slow down and show her knitting from a few different angles.

@theladybaltimore Unfortunately, Miriam's technique is top secret! Which is why there aren't any slower shots or different angles, though she was kind enough to share tips and tricks for knitting faster in general. It might not bring you up to speed with her, but with practice, you should see your own speed improve.

Hmmm.... only a demonstration for the continental stitch... what about the throwers? (like me!)

@UnseenAndInvisible Unfortunately for throwers, part of Miriam's secret to knitting quickly is using the continental method.
