In the October 2010 issue of Bike magazine we exclusively bring together two icons of speed: BMW's 180bhp S1000RR, and Bugatti's gazillion horsepower Veyron. No race track, no TV script -- what really happens when the world's fastest bike meets the world's fastest car on the road?

  • awesome bass in this one :p i shake the whole house with an accident ..

  • I commute on the S1000RR almost every day (skip heavy rainy days). Love the instant gratification whenever I want... and still get around 40mpg average (US).

  • In order to gauge acceleration. To assume rider/driver abilities being the same and assuming traction capabilities being similar. Then hp per Tonne will give a very good indication of which will be faster in acceleration.

    A Veyron produces 505 hp/Tonne

    A Stock BMW S1000RR producwa 670.4 hp/Tonne

This figure includes the mass of a 60kg rider on the bike and driver of Veyron.

The stock BMW bike indeed is quicker than the Veyron The car may have advanges in taking off because of its 4WD

  • @GPz84 ok then, how much does the veyron weigh? 1880+kg. the bike? Not much more than 200kg. Lets see what that 4 cylinder engine can do for 0-60 times if it weighed 1800 kg. Probly 15sec+. The fact is bikes have puny little engines that rev high and like to fall apart, And cars are way more reliable. Cars FTW!!!

  • I sell the Veyron, buy a villa, a Koenigsegg, a Gallardo TT, a Hayabusa Turbo.

  • And the car should take a stock BMW S1000R, look at the HP. Now, lets take the same car, and put it up against something a bit more in it's league. Take a ZX-14 or a Busa, both over 200HP. Do some mapping on the fuel injection, throw on a Turbo then see the HP soar. I've seen Busa's done up with close to 375hp at the rear wheel and tops speeds well over 300mp/h.

And for the record, the BMW does 0-60 in 2.5 seconds as well, all the liter class 4 cylinder sport bikes do, and that's stock.

  • @rchrdbgi8 depends on the track......you need lots of strait and no curves on that track for veyron to win :) it really curves bad(slow)

  • VORSPRUNG DURCH TECHNIC...... Bugatti is owned by vw... Both german engeneering at it finest....

  • The bugatti dose 0 to 60 in two and a half seconds and over 250 miles an hour.Don't be silly the vayron would beat the bike on a a straigt run or round a track.Or anywhere else.I like motorbikes the TT is awesome.Truely awesome but the vayron would win this one without even breaking a sweat.

  • on top gear they had this bike race an ariel atom v8 which is more than a second faster than a veyron around their track and the bike just loses by less than a second. the bikes time would be faster than the veyron.
