Celebrating their 25th anniversary this summer, Doug Varone and Dancers command attention with their kinetically thrilling dances that unearth the complexities of the human spirit. Their evening length work, "Chapters from a Broken Novel" (2011) consists of 22 vignettes inspired by Artistic Director Doug Varone's collection of phrases, photos, quotes, and overheard conversations. Propelled by a bold cinematic score, Varone's "Chapters" is ever-present with purity, spirit, and beauty as it reveals a world teeming with everyday moments exposed for their beauty and rawness.
