I would really prefered the chess they played in this era in comparison today. At the club level it is still fun but at that professional level, opening theory has choked the life right out of the game. You think they are playing great chess only to find that it is all home preparation/memorization.

I always thought that Capablanca's ego is what made him unpopular with the other greats of this era. Laser and Alekhine were genuine strong contenders for the top spot of chess champions with JRC and it would have been very interesting to see how any of them would have performed against legends such as Kasparov, Karpov or Fischer. That would be like the much talked about Mike Tyson-Muhammed Ali boxing match that never happened.

Hardcorekid7, Alekhine imposed to Capablanca the same conditions the latter imposed to him when he was world champion. I don't see why chess history blames Alekhine for that ! And Lasker who is praised by everybody for having ruled 27 years often made the negotiations collapse with many of his challengers and is not criticized much !

I prefer Capablanca all the way... I like Alekhine but in a way he was a coward for not wanting to give a rematch to Capablanca fearing he would lose his crown... Capablanca was truly a genius in chess who never made any efforts in his games and still won

canstein's videos are amazing, good explanations, i have improved greatly by watching almost all of his videos, pereetsa, if u think he should keep quiet, then u mite as well just go to a chess database and look at the games, no need to go to youtube to watch a game lol.
