Another very good low-key show from the beginning of this tour. Rather unusual and interesting medley tonight with nice renditions of I Need Your Love Tonight and For Worth It's Worth.
The aura of Led Zeppelin was unbelievable that night. The atmosphere was electric, and as a15 year old who had skipped school in order to queue for a ticket months before, it all became clear why, when the darkness and the sound of whistling fans as the band took to the stage, was shook with the sudden explosion of sound and light as the band opened with Rock and Roll!
Sitting on the steps of City Hall after the gig, my ears still thick and ringing, waiting for my lift home my dream came alive, when out of the main doors at the front of City Hall appeared Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and John Bonham to transfer into a limo. I was stepped over and being brushed by the greatest rock and roll band the world is ever likely to see.
This band just captured everything about life for teenagers in the 70's --- it was a special moment in life for many...and will never be the same again.
completely agree it could have been me writing this -did you queue outside virgins old shop as well? it was bloody cold! changed my life as well--saw them at earls court 75 great experience just didnt come near the physisal punch of a zep 3000 seat gig without doubt the greatest band live ever
