It saddens me that my religion, one of peace, charity, and love for all including sinners, has been co-opted by a political party of man that promotes war, oppresses the poor, and responds to the sins of others with anger and hatred. I believe that the Republicans are right on issues of the permissibility of abortion and homosexual practice, but hatred is not how Christ responded to sinners when He walked the Earth. You are right, they don't behave in a Christian way at all.

True but the big deal politically is that it looks more and more like the Democrats are going to be taking Stevens Senate seat. The latest poll I've seen on electoral-vote shows Begich 53% vs. Stevens 36%.

Perhaps, but maybe he is exactly who Alaska enjoyed having in the Senate. Lots of Seniority, Ranking Member on the Appropriations Committee, he was in a position to bring home the bacon--including the infamlous "Bridge to Nowhere"". Power Corrupts..and both parties need a healthy dose of humility and reality
