CNN emerged in 1993 .They had style, they had ideas, they had samples...They released a couple of singles then were forced to change their name by the american news company CNN, whom they had originally named themselves after. They then changed to XC-NN, and managed to release 2 albums before splitting up. XC-NN consisted of 3 people, Tim Bricheno (from The Sisters Of Mercy and All About Eve), Dave Tomlinson and Neill Lambert, and Nick Witherick on bass for 'Lifted'. Although they have now split, Tim and Dave are usually up to something or other. From the ashes of XC-NN arose Tin Star, a completely new direction for the boys, which again resulted in 2 albums, some songs in soundtracks, and a no.4 hit in the U.S Tin Star finally ended in 2001, and the newest set up is called 'Jok'.
@Jango808 Chuckles - I found them via The Beat with Gary Crowley.

One of the most underrated bands of the nineties. Of course, their career would have been better if they hadn't royally pissed everyone off. Wish I'd seen them live.
