On July 18th 2008 The (nearly) original lineup of Blodwyn Pig played a concert for Mick Abrahams' 65th Birthday concert. The lineup was: Mick Abrahams on guitar & vox/ Andy Pyle on bass guitar/ Jack Lancaster on tenor sax/ Clive Bunker on drums. Sadly Ron Berg (the original drummer) was unable to play because of an arthritic condition. Ron was in attendance and was very happy to pass the drum stool over to Clive Bunker (Jethro Tull) who was more than happy to oblige.

This is amatuer phone footage from See My way. A full DVD of the concert will be available from www.squirrelmusic.com in the very near future.

  • Clive Bunker is one of the all-time top drummers out there!

  • The drummer is the great Clive Bunker - he was with Blodwyn Pig for years and also Jethro Tull. Admitedly the drums sound too loud but I'm not at all sure that is the drummers fault - and the group is as tight as a post natal elephant - but it is only a jam, init? Not the easiest material to get together without a bit of a decent reheresal. I reckon in the audience it would have sounded great. Alas - I missed this line-up. The Pig I saw recently had no sax and thus lost the jazzy feel :-(

  • Is that Andy hiding back there near the amps?

  • Bunker and Pyle are possibly the the rhythm section ever

  • Interesting. I always knew that the Pig was Mick Abraham's band after Tull, I never knew Clive Bunker joined him as a regular member after Tull.

  • The lads still got it, Mr/ Bunker was light years ahead of the pack and still sounds fab!

  • Yes, Clive Bunker played on Tull's first 4 albums. A true groundbreaker, melding the finesse and feel of jazz with the power and aggression of rock just like Baker, Bonham, Paice, Moon, and the rest of the godfathers of guitar rock. Dharma for One, onTull's first, is one of the greatest drum solos ever. My favorite Bunker track though is "A New Day Yesterday" off Tull's Stand Up album of 1969. An incredible blend of power, finesse, and dynamics. Love that riff..like somebody's creepin up on ya!

  • Awesome! c'mon, lads. Do an album with this line-up. I know ya got one more in ya.

  • Not a bad recording for a cell phone

  • last time i spoke to mick about a year ago he was in good helath but i heard that in January of this year (2010) he had some severe heart problems and was very poorly sadly i have not been able to get this verified but suspect it might be true as he has not been to the club lately :-(

  • What's Ron Berg doing these days?

  • I'd take a drummer this solid in my band anyday
