I hate to say just follow what i eat, I eat tofu and vege only sometime milk and soymilk, a liitle coffee, a little craker and a lot of soup, because I am buddhist, I wont eat animal meat and animal soup period. chanting buddha mantra daily, I feel great.

They cure lots of illness like diabetes and Lupus and only live on donations, they are Buddhists and one named John Tao is a genius!why are doctors not so good?. They cured two friends of mine!that had no hope...

@mwowner12 Grapes :) have a grape diet.. 3 days only eat grapes.. it will clean up a lot of mucus in your system. Also works with polio virus, stops both in their tracks.

I loaned that book out (Reversing Heart Disease) and never received it back. So I cannot quote it 100%. However, eating fruits and vegetables is mainly the diet. Once the heart has begun to heal itself, *eventually small amounts of protein (fish) is added to the diet, as well as healthy fat. I don't believe Dr. Ornish ever recommends dairy or red meats. If you don't already have the book, I highly advise it! It explains everything in detail.

@MelodiesfromHeaven : I didn't know that Ornish allowed nuts, seeds and avocados since his diet keeps fats to 10%.

Dr. Ornish's Diet was mainly whole foods, before man tampered with it. The problem with wheat, corn & any product made from such is GMOs. If we were to go back to clean unadulterated food, I think we would see these "epidemic" disease's declining. By the way, Fat is a part of the diet, from Nut's, Seed's, Avocados. I had the book, and don't recall carbs as a main part of the diet. Unless of course, they were complex carbs.

Did Ornish's diet (a very low fat vegetarain diet) include bread, rice and pasta? Doesn't this go against what you propose, which is a diet of the types of foods humans spent most of their existance consuming, .i.e. modest/no grains, no dairy or legumes.
