I met stig at a BBQ once at my friends house around 2003, had a beer in the garage, I would have been 18. That rs200 was 800 bhp with 1200 bhp nitro. He said it was knarly to drive as you'd imagine. Also for those that don't know he piloted the old Audi quattro's and won the WRC in the group B days. Fantastic driver and nice guy. I'm sure he was asked to be the stig in the beginning of top gear and turned it down but they used the name anyway, but don't quote me on that.

Well the car i did was a full rebuild. i built the engine, the best person to get parts from is a chap called Jeff Page. If u Google him you will see his workshop ;-) its well smart. He worked on the RS200 team in the 80's. A massive help for us.

@wtdvwg40 Dude, congrats. I want to build one too, but I'd have to build a kit. By the way would you know where to buy the parts for one?
-
@DZoneTV No the Legend that it Stig Blomqvist
-
The engines need an overhaul after 10 hours at full-throtle, which isn't at all unusaual for high- stressed race engines. Your average road car wouldn't see 10 hours at full throtle over it's lifetime.
-
@DZoneTV Nope, the rally legend Stig Blomqvist :D
-
By Stig, do you mean Top Gear's "The Stig?"
-
@ sheblab is that true?
Do the engine only last 10 hours at full speed? That's insane if so... Thanks for the info! And (secon user) Thank you "bigshow196" for explaning the sound, i appreciate that.

i dont get why people find that a shocker xD

on cars like that, specially rally cars, they use Anti lag *that popping you hear* to keep the turbo spooled as they down shift or decelerate. that way when they get on the gas theyre still at mid boost and there is no turbo lag
