As per government request, today at 2:27 pm, people in China marked the Sichuan earthquake that started on May 12 at this time by keeping silent for three minutes, while cars, ships and trains blasted their horns.

This clip, shot by Ada Shen, shows the scene on Beijing's Dongzhimen Nanxiaojie.

  • I'm chinese in Beijing, and what I feel during the 3 min is that the whole nation is crying and shout out for a better future.

We chinese people don't express our emotion, in general, like this. Hope foreigners can understand, deeply inside, we care.

  • R.I.P. from Virginia, USA! China, I'm praying for you!
