Anybody catch the Purple Haze riff? I watched them live in Manchester, England and this song lasted about 20 minutes. Each player, including Tower of Power did a solo. It was so outrageously good. And some drunk Mancunian kept yelling out 'Play Ghostbusters!' He tried to get on stage and the security dude threw his ass out. What a night...

@jaimel180 The story I heard was that the producers of Ghostbusters wanted Huey Lewis to write the music for the film but they were doing the music for Back to the Future at the time. They then heard this and asked Ray Parker Jr to write something like it.
