This was shot in October 2005 on the Reborn Tour. It is 2 min 30 seconds long and is just Robert pounding on his drums.

  • All this "best drummer " stuff is NONSENSE!!....there are no best drummers, only different ones! Depends very much on what you like in terms of style..... do you like less? (Ac Dc) or more? (Rush)......I like BOTH! For different reasons. As for Stryper......one of my favourite bands......Rob Sweet? one of my Favourite drummers!! VERY Different style.....Very different Kit layout....Charisma by the bucketful!! AWESOME!!.....GOD BLESS!!

  • robert sweet is one of the best metal drummers out there but i started listening to stryper a long time ago the yellow and black attack and soldiers under command keep rockin robert sweet

  • i like his drum set

  • Man...this solo sucks!

  • I do know it has happened many times. For example on one of Poisens albums they had the guitarist for Warrent come play many tracks on one of their albums. Drummer for Cinderella, they had a session guy come in an lay that down for him too. I know these are the typical cheese bands but I'm just saying it happens. Time is money, and sometimes guys were so high back then they couldn't perform, e.g., Robin Crosby from Ratt. Lars did use overdubs on the JUstice album. Session player on Black, hmmm.

  • Back in the day Robert was good. Good for what Stryper was doing. If you had a drum contest between Robert, Portnoy, Peart, Rockenfield, and even Lee, Robert wouldn't get far, but what he laid down for his tracks were special. TOday as I know it Robert has been clean. Not saying it was due to drugs, but live? He doesn't have the showmanship anylonger or play with the intensity or accuracy that he used or to what the songs require. Why did they bring in another drummer? Hmmmm I wonder that too.

  • Ive met him one my fav drummers.

  • @Gordfozzfoster I'm aware of Chris' playing but doubt he played on Feelgood - unless it was as a joke. Feelgood was during the Crue's "smoother" years, and there's nothing on it Tommy isn't up to playing, so why? Can't see the band allowing Rock to call in another drummer on some primadonna whim. What would the value proposition have been? I liked Feelgood (the song), but it was one of their cheesier albums, and I hate Neil's voice. Now... Motley Crue (with Corabi)? THAT's another story. :)

  • @sp3ci4lkpo Tommy and Chris Taylor are very close friends. Lars has mentioned Chris too. Chris might have layed a guide track down. You like Feelgood too? Kick drum aimed at the loading bay door in Little Mountain Sound Vancouver. Loading bay door mic'd. Yup...that huge bass drum and floor tom sound is a metal loading bay door reverberating. The door and studio are gone now. Brian McLeod from Headpins was the first to do this in 1980. Headpins song called "Walkin Away".

  • @Gordfozzfoster No, no... Blashphemy as in, "How dare you imply that either Alex or Neil were ever ghosted!" I'm very familiar with Lee's playing (one of my major influences in terms of feel), and while it's possible, I highly doubt he didn't record Dr. Feelgood. That song, especially, has his stamp all over it (especially the cymbal work). Seasoned session drummer or not, capturing another drummer's signature feel is exceedingly difficult, and Feelgood sounds to me to be 110% Lee. My $.02.

  • @sp3ci4lkpo I too was shocked to hear Robert Sweet didn't play on the latest Stryper stuff. Tommy Lee is an awesome drummer, showman, porn star, dj, tv host, reality tv star, singer, author and songwriter...etc. Bob Rock's band, Rockhead, Chris Taylor on drums. Now listen to Dr Feelgood and Enter sandman. Same drummer? Use your ears. Harris Van Berkyl, studio guitarist. Bob Rock and Mike Fraser use the same vocalists too. Dave Steele, Don Wilks, Marc LaFrance, Mick DaLavie.

  • @Gordfozzfoster Blasphemy! Name ONE album whose producer didn't let Alex or Neil play on. ONE! You can't. And as for Tommy Lee, the only album he never played on he chose not to. He's far from the likes of Alex and Neil, but he's a lot better than Robert Sweet, technically, and Tommy's pocket is much, MUCH deeper than Sweets will ever be.
