  • I'm always very impressed by the speed of laser machines in cutting profiles. I still think that a CNC punch press such as a Trumpf 3000R can punch the holes much faster in thinner gauges. You have the added advantage that tapped holes, louvres, dimples etc can be inserted by the same machine in the cycle time.

    Hi rayfrith1,

Indeed, for some applications, punching machines will always be faster/better, no matter what brand.

  • Curious cutting pattern, a lot of time could be saved by moving cuts closer.

  • @Peddobjoernen

    Hi Peddobjoernen,

Thanks for your comment. The cutting sequence has been programmed this way on purpose to show the high speed z-height positioning of the cutting head. For unattended night runs, it is safer to retract the head when the travel distance is more than 4 inches (100mm). With a high speed positioning system, we wanted to show that you don't lose any time by doing so.
