I hope not. It was a disaster last time they tried. I'm only giving the remake a chance because the director has done some visually great music videos and Platinum Dunes did great remakes of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday the 13th which is one of my favorite movies.

true. originally they wanted freddy to be fully involved, but New Line found this concept to be rather futile (since he would end up killing everyone in the episode), so they turned it into a "Twilight Zone" like show

Technically Freddy Krueger was not revolved around the plots of these short stories that much. Excepton for a few episodes.
