U.S. Senator Dick Lugar, the Senates most senior Republican and longest serving U.S. Senator in Indiana history, cast his 12,000th vote today during debate on the Public Lands bill. Lugar is now in 13th place on the all-time Senate voting list, having passed the late Senator Quentin Burdick who voted 11,932 times. The late Senator William Proxmire is in 12th place with 12,133 votes. Here Senator Lugar is thanking Senators Mitch McConnell and Harry Reid for their kind remarks.
