One emu egg is said to contain the equivalent volume of ~12 regular chicken eggs. It felt like this egg had more like 15-16 chicken egg's worth of goo in it, though!
To preserve the eggshell intact, we had to drill one hole in each end of the egg (one small and one larger hole) and blow the egg whites and yolk out. This is an emu egg that was laid locally and in-season, and I wanted one for my birthday.
Don't miss the other three videos in our emu egg series!
