Use a piece of wax paper the first few times and you will have a perfect result.

Where do you buy the metal adapter plate? I tried using the "spot shim" method with no luck. Thanks for any help!

I have just watched this and whilst they are cutting the other way to what I was taught (die face down instead of up) they arent cutting into the plate. The metal plate is applied onto the reverse of the die in much the same way as it would be underneath it if you cut up. So the die is still cutting into the clear plate as it always does. Hope that helps.

I very surprised that a cutting plate wasn't next to your die, with the metal plate on top. It seems that the die would be dulled by contacting the metal instead of cutting into the acrylic as is the usual method.

I'm disappointed with my LaRue Heart die. I tried to shim it with an extra piece of cardstock the very first day I had it and now the die has bowed and it still didn't cut nicely. I have 3 other dies, Quinn Flourish, Cherish Border and Frostyville Border and wonder if they were worth the money. Gail Lass

Thank you for these tips. I'll try this with the Piestra Tile die. Love that one, but had some trouble with a couple of spots. I think the tape would have done the trick. Love ALL of your dies!
