When the Surinamese government and some Surinamese media speak about manipulation of Maroons and Indigenous People on the landright conference in Colacreek which should have caused the declaration presented by Ricardo Lewis the articles below from Dagblad Suriname show what real manipulation is in these days. Since many years Nardo Aluma is no more chairman of the OIS. Why is there no hint in these articles about this fact? The recent government under President Venetiaan used him already as a "government Amerindian" to sow discord between the indigenous people. The media should know about the quarrels between him and the new elected board of OIS which produced an excellent video about the landright problem with just the same claims Ricardo Lewis presented in Cola Creek.
Here are some excerpts from this video, which is published in internet and won prices in foreign countries. Why do Surinamese media abstain to enlighten such facts? Is it a lack of journalistic qualities or a deliberate misinformation?
