Unused bit from the scrapped second (1969) season of the Hanna-Barbera show "The Banana Splits". Some changes were made to the costumes --like partially-working mouths-- and different version of Snorky altogether. Astute viewers will note that parts of these clips DID see some use as re-dubbed segues to cartoons ("It's time for Atom Ant!") shown during the syndicated "Banana Splits and Friends" --which was a summer afternoon mainstay on TBS (then WTCG) during the 1970s. (The Banana Splits are copyright Time-Warner and air on Boomerang daily at 5:30 am est!)

1. HB wanted to get away from the "hippie" image so they gave him a haircut. 2. Kids were frightened by the wooly mammoth look so they cleaned him up to look like other elephants. 3. Cousin Itt from "the Addams family" sued for copyright infringement. 4. Doc Brown's DeLorean brought him back from the future and switched him with the wooly mammoth one that we knew and loved. 5. The Sour Grapes Bunch found a way to keep him flat and the one we saw here is a cousin called in to replace him.
What happened to all of the elephants hair? Did it all fall off because of some skin disease or a rash or was it shaved off of his body? It makes him look like he's ill.
Like I said, Snorky was doing hard time for Marujuana posession trying to get back to the US from India. They gave him 5 years and had to share the cell with Magilla Gorilla who was also doing time for money laundering and Pimping OGee. So, the producers got Snorky's second cousin on his father's side. But u can't fool a child! We knew it wasn't Snorky!! Thankfully, after his release, Snorky found god and is now a Born Again Christian living in Fresno. Bingo, overdosed on Thai bananas back in '76
